Holy Orders

Through the Sacrament of Holy Orders, a baptized man is configured to Christ as they are called to serve in a special way. By the laying on of hands and the grace of the Holy Spirit, the man becomes another Christ (alter Christus) so that he can stand in the very Person of Christ (in persona Christi) among those he serves. Through their leadership in the Church, these ordained men help continue the presence of Jesus on earth in the tradition of the apostles. The grace of ordination imparts a permanent seal or mark on their souls that conforms them to Christ in a deep and particular way.

If you are discerning a vocation to the priesthood, we invite you to contact the Vocations Office of the Archdiocese of Miami.
